The Last Wife is a contemporary interpretation of the Bluebeard legend. Musically, the score explores fantasy and reality, dark and light, with the juxtaposition of tonal harmony and atonality. Eleanor escapes the clutches of the evil Bluebeard, becoming Bluebeard's last wife. Bluebeard is taken away, never to harm another unsuspecting bride.

The Sailor's Bride, currently in the creation stage, is inspired by a Newfoundland folk tale that librettist and professional storyteller Deborah Dunleavy incorporates into her storytelling programs. Devil-may-care sailor Matty Trilligan returns to St. John's to discover the beautiful Kathleen. They meet, fall in love, and marry. At the wedding feast, Matty makes a sacred promise to return for Kathleen should he die at sea.
